ex-USMC_Hornet_WSO
My 2017 model project finally finished after 10 months! A 1/48th scale model of a US Navy F4D Skyray of VFAW-3 from the late 50s. Tamiya 1/48 kit with Cutting Edge resin cockpit, XMM intakes, Eduard PE, Meng Sidewinders, SAC metal landing gear, Royal Resin wheels, and Aeromaster and Cutting Edge decals. Replicated brake lines with wire. Gun barrels replaced with brass tube. Painted with Gunze Mr. Color paints except for the Gull Grey which is Humbrol. Bare metal parts painted with Alclad II and Vallejo Metal Color. Post shading, oil paint, Flory wash, and pastel weathering effects. Testors semi-gloss lacquer finish. Enjoy! Joel_W
Now that's an impressive F4D Skyray build. The paint scheme is extremely well done. Joel
