JesusNut Posted January 4, 2018 Share Posted January 4, 2018 I used a chipping technique where I painted the wing surfaces and forward upper fuselage silver, I believe, then sealed with a lacquer coat. I then decanted and sprayed hairspray over that and covered with XF-4. I chipped that heavily, then sealed it again with clear lacquer coat. I then sprayed more hairspray, then the top coat and did some variable chipping of that. This was on a Dauntless. I thought it came out pretty well. This was my first attempt and the only thing I would do different is make sure I look at my references for a more realistic look. This was my first model coming back to the hobby and I just kind of winged it. I thought the XF-4 was spot on, at least to my eye. Quote Link to post Share on other sites
