Silenoz
A what? A hornethopter, a steampunk flying thing, made by Industria Mechanica: It is a resinkit from a giant hornet that I started a long time ago, and continued some work while having some spare time. the parts: I had the thing in my mind take it more wasp-like, mostly by changing the lay-out at the back: original: and with a wasp the drawing forms a line over the complete back: and reworked with styrene sheet: and in basecolors with copper and gunmetal, some retouches are needed: The body for the piloot, is a combination of black, copper and gunmetal: and some further painting, the seat was painted in basecolors, but when applying oilpaints the paint just peeled off... the rivets also need some touch-ups The legs are in black with cupper ornaments and steel "knives": The ball-joints will receive a more steel-like finish. The knive-antennas on the head are also painted and ready for mounting:
The Madhatter
yeah wicked! Its great to see another Industrial Mechanika subject on the boards. I umm'd and ah'd about getting this or the Dragonfly but in the end, the Dragonfly won out. I'd also like to the the Deaths Head Moth too. I really like the Wasp like changes to the main body. I think that's a really nice touch Sorry to see the issues with the paint but it looks fixable Looking forward to seeing more of this
skyhawk174
Wow some sweet work there. I reallly like your small updates and they don't seem out of place at all. I keep putting off buying this kit and the more build I see the harder it is to resist. And now that Industria Mechanica has the dragon fly version I am torn. Not really in my budget to get both. Silenoz
Thx, I was in the same league, but I've found one second hand for 40€'s... so I didn't think twice about it...
