Trojan Thunder
I finished this one back in 2016. A9-300 was destroyed by an oxygen fire during maintenance back in January 1984, I wanted to do a P-3B with some 'history' In better days - Link I converted the Hasegawa P-3C to a B with the now OOP Hamilton Hobbies conversion set which included the searchlight at and replacement sonobuoy panel. I also used a Hamilton Hobbies Weapons bay for the build as well. Edited February 2, 2018 by Trojan Thunder
aidy
Lovely P-3! If it wasn't for the size of these beauties, I'd love to build one myself.
K5054NZ
Gorgeous work, Ray. What a stunner!
The Madhatter
for a moment there I thought the first picture was of your build Ray - It looks like a model However, your build is very very nice. I have a P-3 to do one day but I'd like to do it in RNZAF markings. I have RAAF decals instead....
Trojan Thunder
Thanks guys, Si, which RNZAF scheme are you after? Old Models Decals do P-3K and K2 decals
joeltc
Nice work mate. It looks exactly the way I remember them before they changed over to the ghost grey paint. I grew up not far from RAAF Edinburgh and can remember hearing the drone of those Allison turbo props from my house almost daily.
Joel_W
Ray, My 1st impression was the same as Madhatter. Thought you'd found the perfect method for fire/smoke . But once I figured out that was the real deal, and your was a pristine build. I marveled out the level of your work. That's one outstanding build for sure.
