Very nice job, AFM; I love the weathering; did you also applied it to the artwork on the tails or left them clean?

Thanks for sharing

Very subtle on the vert Stabs, I will be adding a bit of gloss in specific parts revealing fuel swells/leaks.

Cheers

  • 3 weeks later...

Hi guys, Sorry for the absence, a group of us were helping a local IPMS mbr's estate who passed away. Took all the kits and confirmed every box, sorted and org it all. Now that is near it's end, I was able to get back to my desk and keep the balling forward here.

Happy Father's day BTW.

I was working on some 3D printing as I did not like the Eduard CATM Covers (it's what us CDN techs call em, even tho it's used for all types of this variant item) aka Seeker head covers. They have a large magnet in the yellow cap that keeps the seeker head aligned and prevents the head from getting damaged when the aircraft is towed, or when on a utility trailer.

These ones that I printed and resized for the Eduard resin set i feel is much better fitting.

This was the test print of various sizes; you can see some failures. The sizes were printed with a .10" difference between them to get the right fit.

This was the final print of the CATM Farm...good print, only a couple failures, but was user error through handling...OOOPS.

Test fit...

Now the fun part ... painting. Until next time, I'll have them painted and with a RBF tag as well.

Always make extra , the carpet monster lives everywhere, even on hardwood floors!

Drill your .3mm hole (.4mm is loose and slides in very easily) to fit the .10" pin...LOL the math. Or you can trust me.

Nice work, I'm guessing those are the kit decals on the bottom AIM-7 ??, which are totally wrong.

Small update, just came back from camping this past week.

Added some details...

Net over the Hell hole.
PXL-20210711-145657207.jpg

PXL-20210711-145708918.jpg

Added the Gun Electrical Switch...used a long rode and glued in place to ensure it was sitting square...
PXL-20210711-162232616.jpg

Then snipped off to correct length and painted the tip after cut. I made it a bit longer than normal for the better look in scale. Will re-evaluate in a day to ensure I like this length.

Love the wax sticks, AMAZON has them from adding jewels to finger nails...cheep.

Easy peasey...

Love the details.

Question for you:Do the wax sticks need to be heated, or are they sticky enough?
