1:72 Hobby Boss Me262 Soviet Union

Recommended Posts

Where it all began...

A captured Me262 was the first jet powered aircraft to fly in the Soviet Union in August 1945.

The 1:72 Hobby Boss kit of the Me262 built in Soviet markings.

Build wise, a nice simple kit, but can be a determined tail sitter. I can just make it stay on all three wheels, but will tip back on it's tail.

Coloured used are Model Master 2033 blue on the underside and Model master 2122 green on the upperside, plys going on photos, bare metal parts on the engines. Humbrol 11 silver.

Decals are left over Hobby Boss MiG-15 decals. They went on without any issues, but a problem with the matt clear coat where some black paint lurking deep within the bowels of the airbrush decided to come out and splatter everywhere meant part of the aircraft needed to be rubbed back and repainted. Had plenty of decals in the spares file, so wasn't a problem, but very annoying.
