anj4de
Hello all Unplanned things happen often they say...well that happend yesterday. I bought a Monogram 72scale shuttle orbitor kit, unstarted, complete, for 24EUR! That's the 4th shuttle in two weeks...with only the new Hasegawa/Huble and the 144 Dragon one being planned. The Tamiya one came from a scrap yard so to say and now that! :-) I have no plan to build it anytime soon, have other stuff on the bench still, but I am collecting infos now. AM stuff, what is there, what should be bought, etc...so any input is more then welcome. cheers Uwe

anj4de
Thanks Pete...! I am just checking around and came across the Warbird decals in 1/72. In that scale, at least on the pictures, it looks like the tiles have about the right size...much better then on their 144 set which has huge tiles that look ugly. What do the experts say? thanks Uwe Edited February 28, 2018 by anj4de

niart17
well, if we're gonna make suggestions....I guess I could say to at least give some of these a look, there are some parts for 1/72 scale shuttle and stack....ahem.... https://www.shapeways.com/marketplace?type=product&q=niparts Bill
anj4de
Hello Bill Your 3D stuff looks really great! I have the docking adapter on my list already. On the engines...they are phenomenal...only the price is a bit of a hold back right now. Have you looked in maybe stacking three engines into each other with liitle support sticks between them? Like ice cones at the "Gelateria". If SW can print that way it might bring the set price down a lot since the overall volume for three engines goes down...and your sales numbers would for sure rise ;-) thanks Uwe Edited March 4, 2018 by anj4de
niart17
Hi Uwe. Thanks for the comments on the parts. As for the engines, I realize they are a bit pricey and when I first uploaded them in Shapeways I did look in to all iterations of it to see the cheapest way and at least at that time individual models was pretty much the only way to go. I think they've restructured the pricing on parts so I may try to see if there is any other way to bring cost down. I believe though I've lost all of the original files so either have to try to find a way to get them back or re-model them. Bill
anj4de
The postman came this morning...and brought that one! :-) The decals even though basic look still ok. I am sure my list of AM parts will end up at factor 10 of the price I paid for the kit ;-) Anyway...not a short term project. cheers Uwe
