You may need to do some research to find out what engine the Ki-100 had (Wikipedia?). Good luck and let us know what you decide on.

That's all I would really do. Most of the engine won't be visible with the tight fitting cowl and spinner.

Ahhh... Vector.  I used their engines on my US-2B Tracker build.   Great resin but I went crazy adding all the push rods to the front of the cylinders.   Took forever but it was well worth it in the end.  Only other issues is that often you will have to shave down the tops of the cylinder heads to get the engine to fit in the kit cowling.  

 

Post some pics when you start building, the Ki-100 has always been a favorite of mine.
