Alvis 3.1
I can now quit building "What-If" models, as Kees has done the perfect one! Alvis 3.
skyhawk174
Yup that is good one. I know people frown on this and say it is sacrilege but phooey on them. I love it and sorry I did not think of it before. Although having said that I build in 1/48th so it would be an expensive option for me. I do have something similar planned though. I am trying to do my 1/48th V-22 Osprey in CAF yellow as a rescue bird. I think it would be perfect and I have actually seen a profile drawing of this on another forum where the modeller did a drawing of this. Think Cormorant but with the V-22. Els
Kees did a great job on this Whif. The build quality, the colors, decals, it all just comes together very nicely. This is definitely something that I want to see flying in a Sci-Fi show or movie.

I have not seen a sheet from Canmilair for some time but to be honest I was not impressed with the quality. Do you know if they have changed their printing process? The last set I saw was very translucent and pixilated. I was planning on just getting a sheet from Belcher Bits for the necessary decals as I know he has one with the Cormorant on it. I already have one but I wanted to use that on my Cormorant. Edited March 29, 2018 by skyhawk174

I did see a set that was as you described but it was for a scheme with grey markings and grey is a problem colour with Alps so maybe a problem in that area. Others I have seen look better and I don't know about these particular ones as while interesting, I'm gonna use a real scheme on my Hasegawa kit..... skyhawk174
I am doing this in 1/48th so even more yellow. I have two of the Italeri kits so one will be a real scheme.
