After market decals 1/48

Recommended Posts

Quality is a relative term when discussing aftermarket decals. There is quality in printing and quality in the research of the subjects and/or placement guides.

As almost all decal companies use either Cartograf or Microscale to print their sheets, the printing quality is going to be the same. However, Cartograf printed sheets are much better than Microscale when it comes to the details that can be printed. The colors are more vibrant as well.

Regarding the quality of the research, everyone has their own unique approach and all are equally good.

Caracal covers a wide range of subjects and does an excellent job overall.

Furball and Fightertown are the current "Go To" for anything NAVAIR, especially F/A-18E/F and F-14's

Speed Hunter Graphics really has a bead on current USAF subjects, as well as the occasional trip into NAVAIR airspace.

Bullseye is a great source for thoroughly researched USAF F-15 and F-16 sheets.

Twobobs still releases a good selection of subjects and covers both NAVAIR and USAF subjects.

IsraDecal is second to none for IDF subjects

AOA Decals is the "Go To" for Vietnam era USAF and NAVAIR subjects

Zotz does a lot for the 32nd scale modelers and covers a wide range of subjects and era's.

There are several others out there and it mostly comes down to the subjects you are looking for that will determine who to go with. However, you won't be disappointed in any of the above mentioned.
