stalal
I have seen couple of topics where members have built realistic looking head-up displays/ armored glass using an opalescent sticking tape or some kind of iridescent foil. If you could share your experience and the types of materials you have used to create real looking HUDs, that will be really awesome. I have used Tamiya clear green/blue and then dipping in future wax. But I have seen pink/gold glass or a shade of bronze in it. I m after that effect that cant be created using clear paints. Janissary
I used to use iridescent film from what is know as Michael's here. It looks like this: http://www.arcforums.com/forums/air/index.php?/topic/229983-rvl-148-f-15k/ http://www.arcforums.com/forums/air/index.php?/topic/229983-rvl-148-f-15k/&do=findComment&comment=2212586 I got the idea from here: http://www.aircraftresourcecenter.com/Gal8/7601-7700/gal7626-F-15E-Wilson/00.shtm But, most recently, I found party confetti to work even better. It is acetate with the plastic already having the iridescent color in it. I think it works better: http://www.arcforums.com/forums/air/index.php?/topic/299642-148-hobby-boss-su-30mk2-venezuela-af/&do=findComment&comment=2888244 http://www.arcforums.com/forums/air/index.php?/topic/299642-148-hobby-boss-su-30mk2-venezuela-af/&do=findComment&comment=2892411 Edited May 4, 2018 by Janissary
stalal
Thanks. And how did you attach the iridescent film to the HUD clear part?
Janissary
I believe I used future. But, I'd guess even if you gave it a lick and slapped the film on, it would stay on no problems.
