ID4 Captured Alien Attacker

Hello all,

At our recent club show I was able to pick this kit up for $10.  I had never seen this built up before and was surprised to see how big the kit was.  I had a good time building this kit.  Low parts count and not much filler so I was able to get to the part I like the most which is painting.  I did not follow the recommended painting instructions and just did my own thing.

Don't let the Crappy box art keep you from picking this kit up.  It is very nice and has a lot of detail.  There is plenty of room if you want to accurize it a bit more.

Great paint job - I think it looks like the movie, and has a great effect making it look like a real vehicle.

Thanks guys.  This paint was a happy accident.  I spent quite a lot of time noodling a lot of different shades all over the kit.  Then I thought I would thin down some aluminum to give it that metallic shine.  I really thinned the paint and it looked pretty good as I was spraying it over the kit.  Once it dried it was completely dull silver.  I had painted it with Tamiya acrylics and sealed it between coats with some lacquer dull coat.  After the coat of silver I sprayed it down with Windex and the silver immediately started coming off the kit.  I dabbed it with paper towels and it gave a pretty nice effect.

I wonder why it is showing links to the pics instead of the pics?  I posted it the same way I post all my pics from Flickr.  I posted a picture of my KC-10 in the group build section right after posting these pics and it shows as a picture and not a link.  Investigate I will.
