Greenghost
Hello guys, This is the wing of an old 1/72 Heller MS-225 that I'm working on. The question is...how do you recommend to weather it as it looks too monotone for my taste. Base color is Aqueos GS H-36. Thank you.
Fubuki4
Maybe a black wash on the control surface lines, a little dry brushing of pigment to pick up the tops of the ribs or work in a little different coloured green pigments over the wing to give a subtle variation of colour. Greenghost
Hello Fubuki4 , I have never used pigments, which brand do you recommend and how they are fixed after application? Thank you
CANicoll
If you have a fine enough airbrush try airbrushing a slightly lighter color in between the ribs or even in random areas around the wing to show some paint fading. Or depending on if you used a primer coat maybe take a light sanding to the wing to wear off some of the paint from the leading edge or the ribs? Just a thought. Good luck! Peterpools
Chris suggestions are right on the money and will not only add the desired weathering but give depth the area between the ribs Peter
Greenghost
I ended up using wood colors to ad a light variation of color on the ribs, it improves but not yet satisfied. Will try some filters in between the ribs. Will post a picture when it's done. Thank you you for the advice. S.
