Tamiya F-14

Tamiya 1/32 Corsair

Tamiya...insert just about any kit name here produced from 1991 on

they really make them easy to build and for someone with barely above average skills I totally appreciate it....

48th AFV F-5E/F

48th Hasegawa A-4 family

48th Hasegawa F-16 family

I haven't built the Tamiya F-16 or F-14 yet, but I suspect that they'd make the list...... Fred K.

I'm not sure what goes for "building" process though.

For me it would be:

  1. AMK 1/48 MiG-31 BM/BSM
  2. Kinetic 1/48 Su-33
  3. AMK 1/48 Kfir
  4. Academy 1/32 F-16I Sufa

Recently I would say AMK 1/48 MiG-31, Eduard MiG-21 family and Kitty Hawk AH-1Z. From the more distant past, Hasegawa's 1/48 F-104s stand out.

I've never understood the Hasegawa 1/48 A-4 family falling into this category. I've built 5 (with another 4 scheduled for next year) and never found the inserts to fit at all well, and getting neat joins around them to be a complete pain.

Well mine would be - Surprise surprise

1. Tamiya 1/48th P-47M Thunderbolt

2. Tamiya 1/48th Mosquito

3. Tamiya 1/48th Do-335

And now I am just finishing the new Tamiya 1/48th Ki-61 Hien. The fit is incredible and the mistakes in the build were all my fault.

Built recently? That would have to be:

1/48 GWH Su-35s

1/48 AMK Mig-31

1/32 tamiya corsair (X5)

Built overall would be:

See list above

1/32 Tamiya-f-16's (X4)

about half of the 1/32 German Wingnut wings kits

1/32 tamiya p-51d's (X3)

For me the 3 most hassle free kits I've built are:

1. Tamiya F-14A

2. Tamiya F-16C

3. Revell F-15E

All in 1/48...

Boom...

Revell 1/48 F-86D

Great Wall Hobby 1/48 F-15C. Currently building this one at the moment. Fit is absolutely wonderful!

And for the car fans out there, I would highly recommend the Aoshima McLaren f1 GTR long tail.

I concur with almost all of these. I agree with Jonbryon about the Hasegawa A-4 series. The fit is good, but not to the level of the others listed here. One that I haven't seen is the Monogram F9F-5 Panther. I've built it a number of times and have used putty very sparingly.

The Monogram Panther is on my list to build. Many claim it is a great build...........unlike the Trumpeter.
