Chris L
Have any of you used Sky decals . Are they OK ? Regards, Christian
Jonathan S
I've not used their decals, but based on their extensive catalogue and what I've seen on-line, I would think there would be no issues.
Steve N
I have several of their sets, but I haven't actually used them yet. They're beautifully printed with flawless registration, however accuracy is hit-or-miss. SN
Chris L
Thanks Jonathan an Steve . A big catalog does not guarantee great decals . I still have a lot of the old ESCI because they printed a lot of different thing and Squadron had all these sales . They do however not represent great quality . Mainly , I was looking of something that will lay down good and does not seem to be printed on cardboard . It will not make me crazy if it's not 100 % accurate . There's a lot of birds's who's picture was not saved to film but I would lie to stay in the ballpark . I'm debating on what markings I want my Halifax to reflect . Friday the 13 th and the one with the French markings are in the running . Tough choice. Thanks for your thoughts . Regards, Christian
skyhawk174
I only have a couple of Sky Decals in 1/48th. As others have said for some reason I have not used them. From other reviews they seem to go on well. What I am most afraid of is when I do go to use them I will have a heck of a time removing the decals from the sheets. Have you seen how Sky packs the decals on the sheet. Holy cow, talk about well packed. I guess I will just have to take my time and cut slowly.
Chris L
Fear not. This weapon armed with the curved blade is an awesome tool ! Cheers, Christian
P-38 guy
I've used them. Very thin and lay down nicely. No issues at all. Mike

RCAFFAN
I have the Sky Decal sheet in 1/72 for Halifaxs but haven't used it. the decals look okay but the instructions are not the greatest just giving one side illustration or in some cases only the nose markings. Decals look fine but you may need to research the topic further as not all the info is there.... Cheers Bruce Edited June 29, 2018 by RCAFFAN
Chris L
Thanks. Good to know info. Cheers, Christian
stevehnz
Sky decals are printed by Cartograph so the quality is impeccable. They do have a reputation for being a bit light on their research though so it is advisable to check their schemes against other references if possible. having said that, I've got several sheets. Steve.
Chris L
Thanks Steve . I have used the Cartograph decals before and they were good . Hopefully , between the newer Revell and the Sky decals , we'll be pretty close . Cheers, Christian
