JP34
Hello, Whats the FS code for modern Usaf serial numbers? Hope some one can help. Jan
TheRealMrEd
Depends on the color scheme or camo, as well as the type of aircraft. Ed
Ben Brown
Try the 1998 version of T.O 1-1-4: LINK It should have most of what you need for the basics, but you'll still have to resort to pics of your subject to catch any variations from the official version. Ben
JP34
Thanks Ben, didn't find the FS code I wanted. I'am building an QF-16 at the moment, looking for the FS code for the serial number like on this F-16 Lockheed Martin F-16C Block 25C - QF-16C Block 25C - 84-1219 - AAFG0619 - Former USAF 62nd FS Spike - KAFW by Sierra Gulf Photography, on Flickr Jan
Ben Brown
That would be FS36118 Gunship Gray, same as the dark camouflage areas. Ben

habu2
The only thing they repaint on the QF birds is the hi-vis orange, a few QF-specific stencil markings, and touch-up/maintenance coverage required. They don't repaint the entire airframe, it is what it is when it is received. Note the tail (rudder) markings on this QF, including how they mask around the serial number when the orange is painted
aircommando130
OK....somebody do a "what if" former Thunderbirds F-16 to a target drone...all the orange on the old Thunderbird paint.
JP34
Haha, that would bee a cool “what if” i’am going for a what if my self, visited the Amarc last year and took some pics of AZ vipers at the bone yard, and i will use one of those vipers as a reference. Think a partial AZ marking on the rudder wil look cool. Or if i can find some grey serial numbers i will build an old Luke viper as a drone. Jan
