Foreign C/KC/RC-135 Decals in 1/144 and/or 1/72

Recommended Posts

Kursad,  I really don't want to throw anything more at you right now, especially after you have been so good to our group of dedicated 1/144 scale modelers, however, I am wondering if you are planning on rescaling your foreign KC-135R tanker sheet covering Singapore & Turkey to 1/144 and possibly doing France (C-135F/FR), Chile (KC-135E) & UK (RC-135W) in 1/72 & 1/144?  R/ Dutch

Yeah - that French special scheme.. I tried a couple times to get it right, but the references were slim a pickings at the time and some details of the markings proved to be too elusive. Maybe I will attack it some later time, but that one will require a serious chunk of design time.

I think I have enough 1/144 projects on the drawing table to keep me occupied for a while, but I will definitely keep this in mind, Dutch. Thanks!

Thanks Kursad.  How about a couple of early Adl'A C-135Fs then?  Six large roundels, two serials on tail and two dual letter fuselage codes.  Looks simple enough.  You've done all the other markings already.

These are trivial to do and may indeed find place on a second KC-135R sheet at some point. I am about to sell out the first KC-135R sheet, and I will consider doing a second one after the KC-135A/E sheet.

Kursad,

Could you release a "foreign" C-135 sheet with markings for: Chile, France (early basic is ok, if the special 50 ANS scheme is not there yet), Singapore, Turkey & UK (RC-135W)?  You have already done Singapore & Turkey in 1/72. The others in 1/72 would be awesome. Eventually I would love to see these all in 1/144 scale too. Thanks.

R/ Dutch

Hey!  Check out this photo of one of the former Singapore KC-135Rs that were purchased by Meta Aerospace for contract to the USAF.  Pretty catchy scheme, if you ask me!  The Minicraft 1/144 KC-135R boxing & the Heller / Italeri KC-135R boxings have the wingtip IFR pods! Hint! Hint!

Hmmmm, invokes a semi-Shamu vibe, no?  Lighter shade of gray, for sure.

Looking at their website, it appears as a blue-gray.  It will be very interesting to paint.
