airmechaja
And the kit fits well so far. This is a fun build right now. I won't like going back to 300 piece kits but I will. The cockpit tub and IP are installed. I had very little sanding and filling to do so far. Now on to the bottom section of the fuselage.
Kurt H.
Very clean build so far. It looks like you have been very careful sanding the seam on the top. Edited July 28, 2018 by Kurt H.
airmechaja
The nose wheel bay has allot of detail even though not much will be seen. This 35 year old kit has much to recommend. Now on to the main gear wells. Thanks for looking. Edited July 28, 2018 by airmechaja
RKic
That nose bay is impressive. I'm tense to see the fuselage halves go together. This is where Monogram wasn't always so good.
airmechaja
I'll bet it will be a struggle. Haven't test fit yet!

airmechaja
Thanks for the warning. I'll use the info.
airmechaja
I had to go to the "Rent a Clamp Store" to persuade the lower delta to mate properly with the upper delta. Nice detail can be picked out in the main gear wells also. The missile bay looks to be even better.
RKic
That's going better than the fuselage joint on my F-
airmechaja
Back at the grind. I have the missile bay ready for missiles. Exhaust can is attached Found out at this point I had a tail dragger so a good amount of ballast was needed. The all important fuselage to fuselage fit is next. airmechaja
I got the upper & lower fuselage halves together. I would be telling a fib if I said it wasn't a struggle. Others here said it probably would be. Filling & sanding goes with it. The intakes fit very good. I think the bad part is over. Thanks for following.
phantom
Very nice, looks like a upside-down Avro Arrow!

K2Pete
That Missile Bay ... is the kit's? Gol-ding-it, that's nice! Keep it up, this is looking terrific!
john53
WOW! Beautiful, nice looking pit and missile bay!!!! Monogram and you did this one justice!!!---John
airmechaja
Pete, yes it is the kit's missle bay not after market. It amazes me also! A 35 year old kit................ John, It's early in the build. There's alot I can screw up yet! Thanks for the kind words guys.
airmechaja
I haven't posted for a while. I needed some time away from Sanding & Filling the Revellogram. The radome fit was far from stellar. More S & F. Now I'm back at priming, sanding & filling then more of the same. It's like "Ground Hog Day"! Maybe I'll have paint on it by Thanksgiving. Kurt H.
Ah yes, that is what I remember when I built mine. Putty, Sand, repeat on the forward fuselage. This kit has incredible detail, but that seam is nightmare fuel.
airmechaja
Yes sir. It's the seam from hell and it's times 2.
airmechaja
I finally have some paint on the "Putty Hog" -I stole that from Phantom and it's apropos. It looks the part now anyway.
