One of my model clubs had a Monogram build earlier this summer, so these were completed prior to the group build. I thought I'd share them for some inspiration to get the juices flowing.

What really inspired me as a kid was my older brothers Big

T by Monogram. Cars, hot rods in general mystified me. Also

I loved the bright yellow color for some odd reason. So when

American Graffiti came out I had to build Milner's car. I couldn't

find the boxing so a few years ago I took the Revell 5 window coupe,

cut the running boards down, made motorcycle fenders from

sheet styrene and voila, instant '32 Deuce coupe!---John

WOW! That's a work or art.Did you add after market or scratch build? Looks like

you went to town on it. Monogram still makes a good base kit to start with, I

see lots of guys who use them because of their correct shape then rescribe

and add resin to beef them up. Nice job.---John

Thank you, sir!

the only additions I made were lead foil seat belts and stiff plastic brush bristles for whip antennas. Rest is OOB. i wish I had replaced the intake tennis raquette covers with some PE mesh.

still, the monogram a-37 is much more accurate than the trumpeter kit.

I don't even bother describing them (because I'm awful at it). They just look right!

I was also impressed with Revell's 1/249 USS Buckley even though the rudder

was wrong, should be 2 not 1. I really liked the thread railings, something different.

I should have fixed the rudders, I did however scratch build the sonar dome on the bottom

of the hull beneath the forward gun mount.---John

Here's my inspiration for someone. I built the venerable Monogram F-4C about 13 or 14 years ago.

The U.S.A.F. was getting these delivered in Navy colors and they were immediately sent to S.E.A.

I scratched the two combat cameras on the TER racks.

Nice OA-4M picknpluck! That's actually sitting at the top of my list to do for this GB. Any comments on it? Was it OOB?

Thanks! It was OOB except for Furball decals and a couple of very minor tweaks like clear spruce for the wingtip lights, tissue paper dipped in diluted white glue over the rear instrument coaming, and a length of paper clip for the canopy strut. This kit was one of the more relaxing and fun builds I’ve had in awhile.
