What's the intended audience?

It looks like something that should have come with working buttons and hats and a bit of electronics compatible with some flight simulator joystick base, like Thrustmaster Cougar/Warthog or Virpil as sooner or later there's bound to be a Tornado module for DCS World...

This is a highly accurate resin model. Its an ornamental piece of history that you may have in your office or desk when the Tornado will retire next March. Metal jet models have the same purpose. Haven't you seen them? Besides that the working joysticks you mention have no real detail, usually they have the wrong shape and they also have seems on the plastic. Cheap replicas of the real thing. This is a 100% accurate model. It is not intended to work. Its purpose is to look nice in your display or office.

I was just trying to suggest that if you went through all that trouble to create the molds, you could have also considered developing one with working buttons compatible with some of the popular joystick bases.

As for the plastic things with no real detail, e.g.

https://virpil.com/en/shop/grips/vpc-mangoost-50-cm-grip-vpc

https://vkbcontrollers.com/?product=mcg-series

The latter ones are also made of some resin, IIRC.

Sorry for going OT, but your grip looks really impressive so I thought it would be nice if it was developed further.

Thank you so much for your suggestion. That picture clearly shows that this F-18 stick has inaccuracies and two large seems, one in the middle of the column and one on the upper part. Taking that opportunity for the F-18 please not that there will be an F/A-18 control stick from Eagle Aviation very soon, copied directly from the original. Then you may compare! However I thank you for pointing out your suggestions for a workable piece!

I would assume aviation enthusiasts rather sim users. In my view, each use requires different specs and by combining both you simply increase the cost exponentially.

Yiannis, please keep a copy for me!

Many years ago Verlinden offered a resin 1:1 model of an early F-16 control grip.

It’s meant to be a display model not a joystick.

Yes quite right! It was a model of the F-16A control stick. Some differences with the modern Viper stick

Personally I would like to have the accurate & detailed modern jet cockpit tub rather than just a throttle.....like the ones made by Italeri if I'm not mistaken but they are out of production already.

Totally different things. This is real size, 1:1 model.

Hi Jeffrey. There is still the F/RF-4E grip available from us which is exactly the same as the Starfighter's one.

Actually the F-4 grip and the F-104 grip are not exactly the same. The F-104 grip has the hand rest on the right lower side. This was removed on the F-4 due to ejection seat interference.

Cheers,

John
