I got the black figured out to my satisfaction, but the yellow.  Eh?  Lots of shades of yellow.  In the world of Tamiya spray lacquers, is TS-16,  plain old yellow,  a rational match?  Is TS-34, 'camel yellow' a better match?  I realize that nobody's got color chips from a 1931 racer, but is there a consensus color approximation?

Peter,

 

The Berry Brothers were big producers of aircraft "dope" in the 1930's.  Here is a 1930 color palate...

Though I have only seen replicas of the GeeBee Z, my bet is on the yellow in the upper left...
