southwestforests
Found at laundromat today: a quarter decorated with what appears to be a screen printed decal designed to fit. Looks like they used a pretty good setting fluid too, but what did it grab if there is no paint? Or might it have been coated before decaling? Or might it have been printed right on the metal? dnl42
They've apparently been available for a while now. Here's an article in a coin collection site.
habu2
If you altered paper currency like that you’d probably end up in jail.....

Ahh, thanks. As you might have deduced from my surprise at finding the thing I'm not in to coin collecting and therefore know almost nothing about it beyond that it involves coins. Spruemeister
The hucksters that sold these colorized abominations to the public as "collectables" should be flogged. The people who bought them are apparently figuring out that they are worth only 25 cents, and are now spending them in laundromats.. Their loss. Rick L.
