admiralcag
A question for the hive mind - I want to pant the wheel wells on a Monogram 1/48 F-104 Alclad II Aluminum. If I paint it before the camouflage gray, I have to mask it and risk damaging it. If I paint afterwards, I have to lay down a primer that is compatible and risk overspray. Thoughts? Vern Vern, There are some colors and types of Alcad that you shouldn't mask over, but most such as Flat Aluminum (which I use 90% of the time), you can mask over without any issues. I mask with detacked Tamiya tape only. I believe that the Alcad site has a full listing of the can and shouldn't mask colors. Joel
Bob Beary
Prime and shoot the wheel wells first. Mask them off and shoot the rest. If you have to do minor touch ups on the wells just mask around them. Bob
