phantom
Starting up a simple paint job after my last complicated target tow. The first Canadian Voodoo, after we were suckered out of the Avro Arrow. It had one boring paint scheme.......Just wait you'll see.
john53
Boring? Canadian Voo Doo gray one of my favorite colors!---John

airmechaja
Was that the F-101B? I couldn't even guess the color.
phantom
The first batch of 66 Voodoos just had the US markings removed, then RCAF roundel and a 3 digit number. Flag on the tail and wing markings....thats about it. Going downstairs to put away some stuff, then starting her up. No Lightling bolt, no paint, no IR thingie on the nose. phantom
Wings on. Nose does not fit too well.......Odds are its the resin cockpit. Fixable mind you.

john53
Nice job, ugly plane. Sorry but to look nice it needs a coat of Canadian Voo Doo gray OR an RF-1C nose! You're doing a great job on an ugly scheme. BTW noticed the F-4J, ever do a Britsh F-4J UK ? I have one headed to the paint booth after all these GBs are done.---John Edited September 2, 2018 by john53
phantom
Yep, like the Voodoo grey myself. You notice however its now a discounted colour? Cant find that stuff ANYWHERE!! Have I ever done a F-4J UK?............Yeah once or twice.😎 My NEXT one will be Tamiya in 1/32. Just waiting for someone to head up another Phantom or British Group Build. Kurt H.
looking good. I did not know there were ever NMF F-101Bs
phantom
Boy, this IS a boring paint scheme. 17101 which later became 17410, which was given back to the USAF, turned into a RF-101 and then sold for scrap in 1980. Just happens an earlier build is 410.
Els
Its boring but its not boring. All the different shades you put into it really brings it to life.
phantom
Thanks, I had to lighten up a couple panels after the gloss coat to have more differences.
