Fuselage dividing seamline.

Recommended Posts

I noticed in a picture a while back this seamline was present on the real thing. I`m talking about the line that appears after you glue the two fuselage parts together. It never crossed my mind NOT to sand it flush, making it non existent on the model surface. This all got me very curious about this. When you think about it, most all aircraft are pictured with some level of profile to the image so you don`t really see a whole lot from these perspectives. What is your take on this? I would like to hear it.

It depends on the specific plane. Most don't have seams or panel lines along the top or bottom. Probably the most famous example of one that does is the Bf 109, although the seams are only to the rear of the cockpit. The F6F also has panels down the spine, although IIRC they may be very slightly off center.
