martin_sam_2000
oK, I am not sure if the A-10 technically has a type certificate, but we got talking at work and we were trying to figure out who would build new A-10's if it were to happen (came up in the sense of what would be the perfect fleet for the RCAF, came down to either F-16 blk52/A-10 combo or F-35/A-10 combo in case you were wondering) so back to the question: according to wikipedia, Fairchild-Republic went to -Fairchild-Dornier in 1996 - German insurer Allianz A.G. and the United States investment group Clayton, Dubilier & Rice Inc. in 1999 -M7 Aerospace in 2003 -and finally Elbit Systems in 2010 So do the Isrealis own the intelectual property for A-10 through Elbut Systems, or was it sold off somewhere along the line. I would assume the U.S. government would have ensure it stayed within an American company, but I can't find any info online. I know Boeing is building the new wings. but they don't technically show "ownership" of the A-10 program. So..who owns the A-10? Thanks, Sean
Don
I thought Northrop Grumman Corporation was the A-10 go-to company. http://www.northropgrumman.com/Capabilities/A10ThunderboltII/Pages/default.aspx If not then I am curious as to who is.

dnl42
I was at Grumman when it acquired Fairchild Republic's Long Island engineering center in '87. They provided A-10 technical support. Northrup then acquired Grumman in '94.
