WelshZeCorgi
Why are all the out of stock figures/models/PE parts in online hobby stores always found/availible on ebay? Are they scalping?
RCAFFAN
Most stuff made today, even from "large" model companies are only run off in a limited production run at one time. The big companies will likely run the molds again but maybe not for a year or more. Even paint companies make up single batches of a given colour and bottle that batch before moving on to another colour. If you don't get it when available it may be gone for a while. Once they are sold out, the only way to get them is on the "used" market from people who bought them at the time and thus the e-bay listings. There are some exceptions such as people in the country of origin flogging new kits before distributors can get the kits out or some retailers that run e-bay stores but much of the stuff on e-bay is stuff that is no longer in production and may be harder to find. Not really scalping but more of "how much are you willing to pay to get this old kit that isn't being produced right now". Of course some people have unreal expectations as to what their stuff is worth but if you do research, are careful and shop around you can also get good deals too. People here often point out good or bad or crazy deals on e-bay so if something is concerning you , just ask. What I have said is of course a generalization and not always the case...... TaiidanTomcat
None of my stuff is selling on EBay if thats any consolation. And I tried to price it 10 percent under the lowest stuff. YMMV
