arnobiz
I would definitely go for the Isradecal sheet if I built this kit again, the OOB decals are well printed but very thick, I spent a fair amount of time to varnish/sand them down Arnaud
Doppelgänger
I think the Israelis terribly botched the beautiful lines of the F-15E with R2D2's head popping out in the back of the canopy...

Aigore
Right then, The computor is up and running and I guess it´s time to bring ya´ll up to speed on the Ra´am then 😄 There will be less comentary and more pictures and most are taken with my cellphone. Anyways I started with the cockpit and cleaning parts for my "forrest of parts" I went with the idea of putting in the Aires cockpit for the Revell model into this...it had a few chalenges as you will see. Aires bang seat. Three different exhausts....Isra cast, Aires and GWH Impaled parts ready for primer. GWH cockpit vs Aires.. GWH instrumentpanels vs Aires dito There a first glimpse into what has been going on during my comutor troubles.. more to come soon Cheers!
Mr Matt Foley
Is that AIres cockpit the new one released for the GWH F-15E?

Aigore
Ok more updates... The "forrest of parts" is primed in alclad black primer. The exhausts got some gloss black on them as well. Then some white. The cockpit dry brushed. Bang seat drybrushed. The cockpit is detail painted, pigmented and assembled. The side panels added... The side panels thoroughly dremmeled! Had to adapt the front fuselage halfs by cutting off a bit of the avionics bay. The pit seems to fit... I glued the front together...not perfect but it works. A big gap in front of the IP shroud. And at the rear I had to adjust the angle slightly on the rear bulkhead. On with the nose and avionics bay doors. Cheers!
Aigore
The last catching-up-update 😄 Airinlets glued... Airducts ready for a pour and dump. Pouring in paint full... dumping... After 3 repats I had this. fit the into the fuselage. Glued the fuselage halfs Wings and rudders.. And on with the front fuselage... And the piece behind the cockpit No matter how I tried I got gaps.. I put plasticard strips into the gaps And puttied them all up 😄 Sanding is where I am now... and with the computor up and running again I have a slight backlog of pictures to edit of finished builds... Cheers!

I have the one for the GWH sample and the Revell sample. They look identical and I hope I dont ruin the GWH kit installing the Aires pit. Let me know how your pit fits. Well, there is always extra work when fitting resin into a model...but I think it is worth it 😄

I bought the cockpit for the GWH kit but when comparing it to the earlier release, they didn't seem to change anything from the cockpit for the Revell F-15E kit. I want to see someone else's work with it (your kit will do) so I don't make a $90 mistake.

Falconxlvi
Do you think the gaps between the forward fuselage barrel and the rest of the fuselage were caused by your resin pit? Kinda surprised by those gaps!
Mr Matt Foley
I would venture that it is the resin pit causing that. The GWH kit is finicky to begin with the proper alignment of the forward fuselage when you glue. I hosed my F-15D kit because I rushed and didn't take the proper precautions before the glue set. I will dry fit the hell out of the Aires cockpit and if it is not going to fit, I wont use it. What would really be helpful is hearing from Aires if they actually re-engineered the Revell pit so it is different in design and will actually fit the GWH kit. Anything less is not good business (false advertising?) in my opinion. Keep at it Aigore, I want to see a success.
