csand40
I'm trying to build this specific plane. VS-21, USS Enterprise circa 1986. I think I can source most of the decals from the kit but need help with the tail markings. Any thoughts/ideas on who might help? Thanks, Craig
Darren Roberts
If you're doing 1/72 scale, there's this sheet from Microscale. It would get you close. 1.72 VS-21 I don't know if they ever released it in 1/48. If that's the scale you're doing, this is as close as I could find. 1/48 VS-
Collin
Make sure you get the S-3A boxing. That’s the model they flew off the Enterprise. They didn’t start flying the B model until they transferred to Japan/NAS Atsugi with CVW-5 in 1991. Cheers Collin
csand40
Thanks Collin and Darren. Yes, I found a rare SuperScale lo-vis sheet in 48th scale. It's closer than the Microscale but still not exact. The bolt and Viking head are not colored in the darker gray. Maybe I could paint it but I still need the tail code 'NH' and a few other small decals. As far as the kit, I have the Italeri S-3A/B boxing (no. 2623) which I think works for the above aircraft.
