Tom G
Hi everyone, I have some Mr. Surfacer that over time has thickened. It is 500, 1000, and 1200 type. Can I thin it back out with Mr. Color Thinner or Mr. Replenishing Agent? Is one better than the other for this? Thanks, Tom
modelingbob
Yes, you can thin it with either Mr Color Thinner Or Mr Replenishing Agent. Both work great. I tend to use the Mr Color Thinner the most, unless the Mr Surfacer is extremely thick (and I mean really thick!), and then I use the Replenishing Agent.

dnl42
I thin with Mr Leveling Thinner to spray Mr Surfacer as a primer. I don't worry about the viscosity of Mr Surfacer when I'm using it as a thin filler.
Tom G
Thanks for the help. I was able to thin out the 1000 and 1200 using Mr. Color thinner and they are useable again. The 500 is pretty solid so I will order some Mr. Replenishing Agent and see how that goes. I appreciate the advice. Tom
modelingbob
I have had success with Mr Replenishing Agent when it was the consistency of tar!!! The stuff is expensive, but it works!!!!
Tom G
Thanks, that's good to know. I'm not sure who in Canada carries it but Sealmodel has it for mail order. http://www.sealmodel.com/product_details.php?category_id=0&search_string=replenishing&search_category_id=0&item_id=2780 Tom
