Benjaminht99
Hello, Currently working on an AirFix 1/72 B-17G. This model just guessing is probably 40 years old. The clear pieces are not so clear. Has anyone restored vintage clear pieces to make them more clear and has it worked? I'm open to any ideas and input. Thank you
cag_200
I use 3M perfect it, polish compound very fine, blue top. Its a light blue pasta. A soft toothbrush works great in the start. I use cotton in the later stage. Edited December 9, 2018 by cag_200
Benjaminht99
Cag_200 thank you for the tip, my biggest work is the type of clear plastic its made of, its not like the clear plastic that new kits come with, really foggy and not truly clear. I will give it a try and hope for the best. Cheers!

If I may suggest: old model, old technology by an old modeler. Use white toothpaste and elbow grease. Takes time but you'll probably save framings. habu2
These polishing solutions only work at the surface of the part. If the parts are clouded all the way through polishing won’t help. But it’s worth a try.
