flybywire
Hi! Static dischargers found on the trailing edge of the fighter jets' wings are usually made from what material, is it aluminum, steel , carbon fiber? What is its usual color, is it black, silver, bare metal? Thanks in advance!
Mstor
I'm sure there are probably many types of Static Dischargers or Static Wicks, all made of different materials and colored differently. As far as color, you'd have to look at photos of wicks on the actual aircraft you want to model. Here's a link to a patent which gives some background info about Static Wicks and their composition... https://patents.google.com/patent/US4262321A/en
Hooker169
Here are some common types of dischargers, they obviously vary by manufacturer.
martin_sam_2000
most ones I have seen in the commercial world have a yellow or black cover. most are like the ones above with a rubber or plastic coating, while Dassault's (falcon jets) are like the one in the patent, with a yellow plastic part and little metal wires sticking out at the end.
