phantom
As of now. 1/32 Tamiya Spitfire OOB. 1/72 HMCS Kitchener. K225. Hmmmm....Seems the Spit I want to do is 1943.....So HMCS Kitchener goes to the top. Edited December 31, 2018 by phantom
Fubuki4
I've had this 1/72 Hasegawa P-51B floating around in my stash for years and years, I think I picked it up for 2 bucks at a swap and sell, I might pull it out and build it. From memory both options are 357th with full D-Day stripes.
BN7149
I'm planning to build two 1/48 P-47D bubble-tops. Both will be from the Tamiya kit. First is a clean natural metal plane, "Maggie V" from the 353th FG. Second will be a more weathered OD-overpainted jug from the 356th FG that has cowl artwork of Cupid peeing off of a cloud... awesome! Both of these are from the AMDG Decals set "Eight Gun Melody, Part II". This is the first time I've ever participated in a group build, so I'm excited to see how it goes. -Ryan
Fubuki4
They look pretty nice Ryan. I've got a few Luftwaffe aircraft in the stash too, we'll see how I got with the Mustang first.
Ichitoe
I'll be doing a Hawker Typhoon.
Stefan buysse
Hi, I'll build the "top cover for D-Day": a 1/48 Hasegawa Spitfire with the Brengun conversion set to make it a Mk VII. That's a high altitude Spitfire with a presurised cockpit. Decals will be from the Victory Productions "Aces of the Empire" sheet. No high-altitude threats emerged on D-Day, but I like the idea that the effort was made to counter for any eventuality. Phantom, I'd love to see that 1/72 HMCS Kitchener in this GB. Cheers, Stefan. WymanV
I'm considering three for this build, because it usually means I'll finish one 🤓 The first two will be Monogram's 1/48 C-47, done as Sugar Puss of the 438th TCG during Mission Elmira, the glider reinforcement of the 82nd Airborne on 6-7 June 1944. I'm also tossing in a DML/Dragon 1/35 Stug. III Ausf. G Early which will likely represent a typical Stug. the US encountered in the bocage country after the landings and before the Operation Cobra breakout: The third one I'll submit to the group for consideration. Academy 1/35 M12 SPG that I picked up on ebay as a started kit: The original builder also scored the Eduard PE set for this and while he started it, he didn't get far: All the rest of the parts are unstarted. The seller didn't tell me what OD paint was used so I'll have to repaint in a color I have on hand. There's also some bits broken off the driver compartment that will have to be replaced. If the consensus is a go, I'll do this one as a participant in the Hurtgen Forest fiasco. Ken

ytsejam87
I am looking forward to the group build, so I can add some structure to actually completing a kit! I will be building up the Revell FW190d-9 oob. Though, considering it was originally Eduards moulds, I did pick up Mr. Sulc's cockpit photoetch set.
Scooby
1/48 Eduard Spitfire, 416 RCAF markings, Eduard, Barracuda and Brassin add-ons.

Stefan buysse
Hi, I'd also like to build an Airfix Mosquito PR Mk XIV. Mosquito PR Mk XVI 05 Jan by StefanBuysse, on Flickr Cheers, Stefan.
Fubuki4
Just like D Day the enemy has not showed up yet. I might have to change that lol
swbailey
Haven't been able to participate in a group build for a while, as my workshop was destroyed in Hurricane Harvey back in 2017. Now however, the shop is back in working shape and it will be fun to get back into group building! For the first one, I am going to work into it slowly with a Pegasus 1/48 V-2 Missile. It's a snap together, but the shape is pretty accurate at least as far as the rocket is concerned.
modelguy2
I've been hemming and hawing about whether to join in but I found an old Tamiya King Tiger in my garage while looking for bits for an Academy Achilles and so here we are. The dualists:

ibst
Hi guys, Am I still on time to join? I've been looking at this for way too long. Cheers, IBST Edited January 24, 2019 by ibst
nspreitler
There is plenty of time to join, 5 months to go. Welcome
swbailey
Now that the V-2 missile is done, I wanted to do something a little more challenging; the Pro-Modeler (ex-TriMaster, ex-DML) Focke Wulf FW-190D-11. Will be doing it in the JV-44 airfield protection colors with the red undersides with white stripes. I'm a big fan of astronaut Pete Conrad's philosophy that "If you can't be good, be colorful!" I realized as I dug back in my memory, that it's been 45 years since I built an FW-190 kit, despite the fact I've got a bunch in my stash.

swbailey
Okay, I couldn't resist... one more for the GB. Going to do a very late war Luftwaffe machine.

Dotcom
I wonder if I am too late to join, seeing that half time has already passed on this GB.. I would like to join with a 1/72 P-51B in Swiss Air Force colors. The aircraft was originally on a USAAF escort mission with a bomber formation to Germany in July 1944 when it developed motor troubles and landed in neutral Switzerland. The Swiss impounded the plane, painted it in national colors and used it for evaluation and air combat training. It maintained the invasion stripes on the underside. After VE day the plane was returned to the USAAF. Kit from Mister Craft:
