Stefan buysse
Hi, Now that the F-5F looks like she's going to get finished in time, I feel like I can add another one. I also have an F-5E with the sharknose and larger LEX. I'm going with the desert scheme on this one. Sharknose F-5E by StefanBuysse, on Flickr Cheers, Stefan.
Ichitoe
One of my favorite desert schemes. How are you going to mask the camo pattern: putty or tape or ?
Stefan buysse
Thanks for looking, Ichitoe. I hadn't given the masking for the camo on this one much thought yet. I'm defintiely going to use tape on RADM Gilchrist's Tiger. Putting decals on the silver F-5F has made clear that these are small models so I'm leaning towards tape on this as well. Cheers, Stefan. Ichitoe
Yeah with tape it'll be easier to do the curves of the camo pattern than putty would. Looking forward to your progress!
Stefan buysse
Hi, The group build is nearing the end, time to finish my two F-5E's. Construction is nearly complete, they are obviously very simple kits and I'm not doing anything special. So, I'll post pictures when they both have their first coat of paint. I hope to have them done by sunday evening. Cheers, Stefan.
Stefan buysse
Hi, Well, it's sunday evening and this one has its second camo colour. She looks pretty cool from 6 feet away, but up close... Top Gun Tiger 10 Feb P by StefanBuysse, on Flickr The camo scheme was done with some artistic licence and something horrible happened to the windscreen (it's probably glue and it has bitten deeply). I might try a fourth F-5 for this GB, the one from 1976 in the Ferris scheme. Cheers, Stefan.
Kurt H.
That scheme is harder than it looks. In 1/48th I had trouble keeping it straight, 1/72 would really be challenging, the F-5 is such a tiny plane.
Stefan buysse
Hi, Am I glad that the finish date is the 3rd of March, not the 1st! I had a busy week and didn't think I'd be able to finish this one in time. This one should be done by sunday night. The two other Tigers not, but I'll post pictures of them in their threads when they're done (not in the gallery). Cheers, Stefan.
Stefan buysse
Hi, Luckily, this one did not need a lot of decals. Top Gun 03March-1P by StefanBuysse, on Flickr I hope to finish the others I started later on. They are not exactly the best models around, but grouped together (and from a distance) they may look kinda cool. The on in the back needs to be repainted entirely.
