What are your top 5 dream model kits?

Recommended Posts

We live in wonderful modeling times.  Personally I can't get enough of what is available - but here is my top 5 list of kits I'd like to see:  Model Airplane Maker

What about you?

Hmm ... Has been a while since I've really looked in to what is currently available and there is so very much more than there was in 1970s and 80s; from what I do know, it sure does look like right now is a good time to be an aircraft modeler.
Because as my health declines I have been putting more in to trains than planes there has to now be much available which I do not know of.

I had intended to give a listing but it is turning out that my brain just won't do that at the moment, sorry.

Well, here's a thought, talking along the "What if Tamiya did a ..." theme,

What if Tamiya did a 1/48 and a 1/72 Buccaneer?

Have recently seen a 1/48 SAAB J29 Tunnan, so there's one earlier wish fulfilled.
Don't know that I'll ever get one and build it the way things are now though.

Amen!

New tooled 1/72 B-47 and RB-47 would be cool...

New Frogfoot in 1/48 would also be awesome...

And maybe a new tooled 1/144 KC-10.

I'd buy all of that.

Didn't ICM just announce an 48th A-20?  Knowing them, they'll eventually do the entire series.    I'd love one in 32nd but regardless, I'd say the A-20 box is now firmly checked.

A UH-1Y in 1/72. Or 1/144 actually, but I'll take 1/72.

These threads are fun once in a while. It is a great time to be an aircraft modeller, lots of  long neglected subjects are being kitted. In a perfect world, I would love to see the following as modern new tool kits, 90s Hasegawa quality or better

1/48 F-86H

1/48 Blackbird family

1/144 C-133

1/48 A-26K

1/48 thin wing RF-4B

It is not my dream kit, but I really think the time is right for a new 1/48 B-17 ... Ultra super detailed like a Zoukie Mura kit.

I also think it might be a good time for an all new tool 1/32  Phantom family.

ALL 48th scale

1, Tamiya UH-1D/H. Kittyhawk's is ok; but NOT Tamiya quality!!

2. Tamiya AH-1G  Where is this subject?????

3. Tamiya P-40B/C. Again, Airfix is just ok with lots of issues; but, not Tamiya quality!!

4. Tamiya UH-1C/M!!  A poor kit of Mnogram/Revell's is the best!!  And it requires resin Conversion to be just ok!! Geesh!!

5. Tamiya OH-6A Loach!!   Like the Cobra above, ??????

Tamiya has set themselves WAY above the current Industry Standards!!  About time for others to catch up!!
