Since my last post, we've gotten a really nice 1/48 AH-1 Cobra.   Now someone needs to do an equally nice 1/48 HH-3 Jolly Green Giant helo.

And a 1/48 Grumman F11F Tiger would be nice too.

I'm with ya on the F11F

Perhaps those in the 3D CAD-O-SPHERE might find it a worthy project.

My own bucket list still consists of a 1/32 F-106.   Yes, it would be big but about the size of Monogram's 1/48 B-58.   So, not impossible.

I'm still on the CAD tutorials.  The process is the punishment...ha-ha.   Eventually, maybe by 2050, I'll have proficiency and find out that everything I know is obsolete.  One can hope, eh?

Tech moves so fast that I can hardly keep up.  I was a kid when digital tech arrived, I was in my teens using the high school computer that could use either BAISC or FORTRAN and...then in 1992 I got my first PC, a 386, then a 486, then it went vertical again and now, I'm left in the dust with a short budget and a prehistoric laptop.  Sheesh.

However, it's all been good and plastic modeling will gradually see the paradigm move to buying the files or the kit from vendors who have created some very good models.

Now, if we could just get Testors Model Master enamels back.    :-/

I forgot to mention that years ago Combat Models did a vac kit of the 106 in 1/32.   I used to have one but 1/32 wasn't my scale so I sold it off.

.New tool 1/48 F-8 Crusader series.

.New tool 1/48 S-3A/B Viking.

.Tamiya to hurry up and release an F-4J. Will probably never happen.

. Tamiya to release a new tool 1/48 F-22 Raptor to compliment the incredible F-35 kits.

. A good, easy to build 1/72 B-52G/H that doesn't require a ton of filler and sanding and aftermarket to make it look decent.

. New tool 1/72 C-135 series

I saw that kit. Combat kits are very labor intensive but the results are worth every bit of effort.  They have a terrific list of unusual subjects and I almost pulled the trigger to get one of the F-106 and a few others.  Decided not to for reasons unknown.

For me my dream A/C kits in 1/48 would be New Tooled F3D Skyknight, Legacy Hornets A-D, F4U-4/5/6(AU-1)/7, F9F Panthers, F2H's. Here's the deal I want Tamiya to be the company to do them...Never gonna happen but this is a Dream wish list right....

These threads are fun once in a while. It is a great time to be an aircraft modeller, lots of  long neglected subjects are being kitted. In a perfect world, I would love to see the following as modern new tool kits, 90s Hasegawa quality or better

1/48 F-86H

1/48 Blackbird family

1/144 C-133

1/48 A-26K

1/48 thin wing RF-4B

It is not my dream kit, but I really think the time is right for a new 1/48 B-17 ... Ultra super detailed like a Zoukie Mura kit.

I also think it might be a good time for an all new tool 1/32  Phantom family.

I saw this thread pop up I and I was pretty sure I replied to it ... I found my post, so what have we gotten in 5 years?

1/48 F-86H Not yet! 🙁

1/48 Blackbird Family - Revell gave us an SR-71 . So It would be cool if they also offered the SR-71B, A-12, and YF-12

1/144 C-133 - Thanks Roden!

1/48 A-26K Invader Thanks ICM!

1/48 Thin Wing RF-4B ... Not yet but ZM seems it have it on their roadmap.

There was a new 1/48 B-17 from HKM ... and a special run of this kit from Eduard. However there were concerns about accuracy.

We still have not seen a new 1/32 Phantom. Is there still demand for new 1/32 kits?

I do have plans to do the old school conversion to get an F-86H but who knows when I will get to it.

Do I have any new additions Five years later?

Not really, but I do think the following really deserve a proper, modern kit:

1/48 F-11F (long and short nose)

1/72 B-32

1/72 B-45

1/48 F3D SkyKnight

1/48 F3H Demon

These were victims of the times, technology advanced so quickly, these did not last long. And the B-32, with no surviving airframes is really in danger of being totally forgotten!

1/48 UH-1F

1/144 B-52D from GWH/Plank Road

1/24 Lamborghini Huracan GT3 Evo (hey, it has a wing!)

A Bristol Beaufort in 1/48

I'd be very happy if Airfix did a 1/48 Hurricane IIc and d

A 1/48 and 1/72 Battle I

If you were not already aware.................

ICM have issued 5 different kits of a 48th Beaufort.

Arma Hobby have also released 5 or so kits of the Hurricane mkII, the gold std in 48th Hurricane kits.

48th scale Battle is apparently available, from Trumpeter (though the top of the canopy might be a bit too square). A 72nd new tool will shortly be available from FRROM, 3 different kits.

Granted these may be a bit spendy on your side of the pond...........

1/48 Aurora. (P-3 Orion)

1/72 Argus

1/48  Cyclone..... The new thing that replaced the Sea King.

Re-release and improved CT-114 Tutor

1/72 Yukon

My list from 5 years ago has yet to happen in main stream kits (not massive conversions anyway) I did do a Airfix EH-101 with Belcher bits conversion twice now. However the Tutor is still rumoured to come some day from Kenetic.
