Piker38
I believe this kit has the correct FAST-pack to build this project, but wondering what else I should look out for ? All help appreciated, thanks.
mungo1974
Yep Fast-Packs sprues (H) &(I) in the old F-15E boxing parts (C32/33) x2 the AIM-7 Sparrow attchment points parts (C3/7) and your good to go.
Piker38
Thanks Mungo. Looking at the kit parts, the main gear doors don't appear to be bulged, so it seems that Hasegawa re-used their F-15D sprues and just added the FAST-packs and weapons to approximate an E-model. Apart from the 57th FIS, did/do any other F-15 unit regularly use FAST-packs ?

Actually, no unit flew with FAST packs. Kadena, Elmendorf, and Iceland jets did regularly fly with CFTs though, and Langley also used them too; although, to a more limited extent. Piker38
Indeed, I was being lazy by referring to CFTs in the A/A configuration as FAST-packs. Images of light grey Eagles wearing CFTs seem very hard to find. I have found a single image of a ZZ Eagle configured with CFTs and another of Edward AFB's F-15D Glamorous Glennis. Anyone know where I might find more images to use as build references ?

Piker38
There's some good historical images on that site, with the 57th FIS Phantoms looking beautiful. Still struggling to find many images of ZZ or AK Eagles carrying CFTs, tough.
