gb_madcat_sl
Been working on this one on and off for a while now. It is the much lauded Tamiya rendition of the venerable F-14A Tomcat. The kit was built with the addition of Fine Mold's plastic seat belts and weighted wheels from DEF Model. Painting was done with Mr Color lacquers and weathered with enamels and oils. Decals from the kit but they were a little thick. With superb engineering, this kit was a joy to put together. Feedback welcome and hope you enjoy the photos! Whiskey
Man I had to do a double take on that first picture cause I thought it was a painting, not a photograph! Very very well done. The only criticism I may speak of is that the grey looks too white, at least to my eyes. Still beautifully done though.

Velcro
Did you use a combination of paint and decal for the anti-glare as recommended in the instructions or did you use pure paint? Rod
AD-4N
I'd like to hear about tips for using the kit decals.
Jonathan S
I was just wondering the other day what the decal quality was out of the box, thanks! Excellent build, the interior of your exhausts was well done. Love the markings. What Mr Color paint number was used for the overall gray?

Rod Hi Rod, I painted the anti-glare panel. On 8/3/2019 at 3:12 AM, AD-4N said: I'd like to hear about tips for using the kit decals. Hi, Kit decals were easy to use. I applied them on gloss-coated surfaces and had no issues with silvering. They reacted well with the Mr Mark Softer which I use for all my decal applications. I used Mr Color 315 which is listed as FS36440 flat gull grey for the upper surfaces. Mark
