Fw190A-8 Eduard 1/72

Recommended Posts

I needed a motivation build and pulled the Eduard 1/72 Fw190A-8 off the shelf.  I've primarily switched to building 1/48 but Sprue Brothers had an Eduard sale and I picked this 1/72 Weekend Edition kit up for something like $8.  Added Eduard seat belts.  I used the kit decals but could not get the nose spiral decal to work.  My wife bought me a Silhouette Cameo for Christmas!  So, my first project was to scan the remaining spiral decal and cut it out on Tamiya Tape and use it as a mask.  Worked out great.  The wing cannons and pitot were all replaced with Albion tubing.  For the first time, I used EZ Line for the antenna wire.  It was easy to glue in place but looks large and out of scale for 1/72.  All painting is done with Mr. Color lacquers.  Weathering was done with oils.

Overall, it's a nice kit.
