Dutch
Does anyone know the identity of this Maine ANG KC-135E in the photo below? Zoom yields me nothing. Photo was allegedly taken on 9-11 over NYC, but looks like it may be photo shopped because of the sun angle and the fact that there is no smoke rising from the world trade center site.. 82Whitey51
I don't think it's photo shopped...but it wasn't taken ON 9/11. I believe it was taken a while after 9/11 as a publicity shot promoting the ANG. The aircraft represent all the ANG birds that were launched on 9/11 (MA ANG F-15s, VA ANG F-16s, ME ANG KC-135.). habu2
Why is the sun angle suspect? It looks uniform across the different aircraft.
82Whitey51
In the weeks after 9/11, the ANG was flying CAP over the east and west coasts as well, probably when the photo was taken...F-16s look like they might be VT ANG birds vice VA. 🤔
