Dave Roof
Started this kit about 10 or 11 years ago, can't remember exactly. With my new project of building scale models for active duty Marines, figured this was a good candidate to turn around quickly. The model did have decals for an aircraft from VMFA-314, however, they were sanded off and the paint was touched up using AK Real Colors 36375 and 36320 (this stuff is awesome by the way)! There is still some work to do with more 36320 though. There is an Aires cockpit installed, but the canopy will be closed so not much of it will be seen. New decals will be from my latest sheet, FL48009 and feature an F/A-18A from VMFA-115 as it appeared during the squadrons 2008 OIF deployment. If all goes as planned, I should have it finished before the end of the week. Once it's done, I have an F/A-18D ATARS aircraft in the same "almost done" stage and it too will be completed. SERNAK
The kit is excellent though mind the recessed panel lines. At some points of the airframe they tend to disappear very quickly after a pass or two with a sand paper!
