That's amazing given the enormous gap that runs span wise along the flaps.

And the air brakes are a completely different shape to the fuselage, so if you close them there are huge gaps.

Last year I had the honor to do the design for FW-74s Ghost Tiger Typhoon 31+00 which won best painted aircraft at the Nato Tiger Meet 2018. Fighter Wing 74 took on the Tiger tradition from Fighter Bomber Wing 32 after its dispandmend. My first Tiger Typhoon and the first time my entire designwork got accepted on the jet. Revell only issued a 1/72 edition, hence I am currently working on the 1/48 and 1/32 Revell kits as a master for respective decals. Currently it's basically the same circumstance with Revells Typhoon as it is with the old Tornado kit: The overal shape is almost spot on apart from a wrongly set canopy/windshield combo with the entire rail missing which is not easy but also not impossible to correct. However the detail is once again below standard and in comparison to Revells F-15E or Rafale sadly a chance missed. Still, it's the moste shape accurate kit of a Typhoon out there. Hopefully I get this done some time this year??! (English translation further down the site)

So those markings are made by decals? I always assumed they were painted on.

Nope, I'm afraid no painted Luftwaffe Typhoons anymore. As it stands at the moment there are only foilings allowed on German Typhoons, i.e. only top side S/Cs as the belly must be excluded from any foiling. Luftwaffe Tornados are neither allowed to be foiled or painted anymore. The special camos you see from FW-51 each Tigermeet are officially "maintenance touch ups" if you know what I mean. 😉

I've decided to (eventually) build a German Marineflieger IDS Tornado and would like to hang a couple of AGM-88 Harms from it. The problem is that none of the aftermarket Harms come with the proper adapter and the IDS kit doesn't come with any ordnance at all. The only place I found the right adapter is with the CMK AS-34 Kormoran missile set. I could get the set and just use the adapters, but the seems an expensive way to do it. Anyone know where I can get the proper adapter? Below is a pic showing the adapters with AGM-88s.

I took little square plastic sticks and cut, sanded, shaped them to the right length and form and molded the bracings in the middle with plastic and putty.

In my eyes the only way to do it properly at the moment.

Yes, it looks like only the CMK Kormoran missile set comes with these adapters. I will probably buy two sets (four missiles and adaptors altogether). I know I saw a pic of a Tornado with two Kormoran under the fuselage and a Harm on each wing. So the adapters from one of the sets will be used to hang the Harms. I'll post that pic just as soon as I can find it again (unless I imagined it :hmmm:).

bushande, yes, they look deceptively simple and thus easy to scratch build, but I don't think my skills are up to shaping the "bracing in the middle" section.

What we really need is an enterprising individual to maybe 3D print some of these. I have no experience with such things.

P.S. found the pic I mentioned above. Its on Airfighters.com so I can only post a link here.

Yeah, I expected someone will come through after the new Revell Tornado release, but nada. Eduard could have added them with those Kormoran 2s (as they did provide the F-104 pylons with the Kormoran 1 set).

That's an interesting pic. So, I presume Luftwaffe IDS couldn't carry HARM missiles (as they had ECR for that), while Marineflieger ones could?

Yea, I couldn't fathom why Eduard left out the Tornado adapters in their Kormoran set.

As far as Luftwaffe IDS and HARMs, I found a few pics of Luftwaffe IDSs with HARMs. Unless the pics are mislabeled (which I think not as all those shown below have cannon), then it appears that both Luftwaffe and Marineflieger Tornados IDS could carry them. See links below.

Another question. Does anyone still make resin replacements for the wing seals? My understanding is that a gentleman by the name of Shaun used to make a very nice set but he does not appear to be in business anymore. Wondering if anyone has filled the void?
