Dave Roof
Both the Kinetic and Hasegawa kits are great. They both have their own pros and cons and replicate the real aircraft well.
DONG
I agree with Dave on this, the only real upside to the Kinetic kit is weapons. Don
habu2
Although not marketed as a D model, avoid the Testors / Italeri kit.
Brian P: Fightertown Decals
The Kinetic D has detail benefit of NACES seats, mesh vents on the fuselage and wishbone vents on the LEX, the correct antennas, and correct nose gear door - none of which Hasegawa has. But no one has boxed the rear cockpit instrument coaming correctly. Kinetic wins in a big way for a D and a Late C. Brian

Brian The Kinetic and Hasegawa kits both require scratch built details and/or aftermarket to bring them up to current standards, or back date them if needed. As Desert Storm Deltas didn't have the NACES fitted, wishbone vents or late antennas, those can be a non issue. As I said, they both have their pros and cons and build up well to replicate an F/A-18D from 1990 to now. The same applies to the C.
Brian P: Fightertown Decals
Kinetic has the all the old vents option as well. But does only have NACES. They weren’t trying to do an early SJU seat version. Almost forgot, it also has the bird slicers forward of the canopy. Neither is perfect but for a D/C with the later options, I prefer Kinetic. But that windscreen fit issue does suck.
