Eli Raphael
Hi, Were the wells painted fuselage color, white or red? What about the actual brakes, red? Thanks
Ben Brown
Wells should be the same color as the belly. Insignia Red for the insides of the speed brakes themselves. Of course, there were always exceptions.... Ben

BillS
As usual Ben is right. Actuators were typically red too as were the inside of aux air doors, the rat and the inside edges of the ailerons and flaps although obscured by years of overspray of camo colors. I also remember the fuel dump mast tips (not the tail vent mast but wing dumps) often being red
airmechaja
I replaced hundreds of dump masts and never saw red tips. 1970 to 1974. Just Sayin. That was USAF. Edited June 7, 2019 by airmechaja Info
