Yes, they have parachutes in a housing inbetween the tailfins. No aftermarket for this (yet) but you can also make one without.

Niels, thanks for the answer.

 

I have looked at a lot af photos of RNoAF F-35 but never seen that before, thats enormous.

But the ones I have seen is probably the onece in US.

 

How many has arrived in Norway?

 

When you say that I can buildt one witout, the housing. Is the housing detachable.

The housing is detachable/attachable to all new-build F-35A's, so technically you could in the future see USAF F-35A's with it for excersises in ie Norway. 

 

As for the number of F-35's, we'll have 15 by years end in Norway with another ~4 with the 62FS 56FW at Luke

The biggest thing to look out for is to have the correct font on the tail numbers. The font is called "Norwegian" and have curved edges as opposed to the angular of the USAF versions.
