modelmax
Hello gang. Here's a model that I thought I'd never get to build until recently. An older release from a different manufacturer (name escapes me) was the only game in town, but that was old technology, expensive, and hard to build. As soon as I got it, I started it... everything else was placed on hold. any way, here's my progress on the recently released Savoia-Marchetti S.55, which I plan to build as the one in the box art. The pantoons/hulls went together quite effortlessly. the cockpit was simple, but the PE control levers were a pain! My main complaint, is that the instructions are printed very small, at times vague, and plain wrong in several steps. The quality, however, is very good, but some of the pieces are very delicate. Regardless, I'm really enjoying it. thanks for looking. Ernie A.
modelmax
More pics... A whole 13 in. wing span. thanks for looking. Ernie A.
southwestforests
That the manufacturer represented structural ribbing inside hulls is interesting. Curious to see how much tiny PE the engine assembly has.
modelmax
Hello Gang. Here's a few more update pics. The photo etch is tiny and flimsy. I couldn't resist a test fit. thanks for looking. Ernie A.

Here are some shots of the scratch mooring cart. Also awaiting primer of the "metal" parts. the wood will be stained and aged later. Thanks for looking. Ernie A.
