Why now?

I started off with epoxying a neodymium magnet into the bottom of the Falcon.

All the parts are primed. I talked with a friend who builds a lot of Bandai kits and he said using Mr Surfacer would work well. Bandai's plastic does not work with enamels.

I will also get to try Vallejo Air on this project.

That is neat, would wish that 1/350 guy was available on its own. Would look good with all my Star (superior series) Trek stuff.  Lets you know the size under your Klingon vessel.

Also, there are three different versions 🙄. I am going to put a magnet in the docking collar in hopes of sticking it to my refit. I considered putting it in the hangar deck of one of my 1/350 carriers, but it would be there forever.

Hey, that inspires an idea, interchangeable Millenium Falcon magnetic mandibles which have different toe-ins.

😉😁

I put a magnet in the starboard docking ring to stick it to my refit Enterprise. Found I need to counterweight it. A lot. I also got some waterslide decals off of ebay for it.

Am curious to see the decals both on the backing paper and on the model.
While we're talking Bandai's Star Wars models ...

In the 1970s I built a number of Bandai's 1/48 scale tank kits with the interior details and rather liked them.
The figures could have been more finely detailed and sculpted, but it was the mid 1970s, and plastic model molding tech was not what it is now.
Haven't built another Bandai model until this week ...

Got the 1/144 scale combo kit with X-wing & Y-wing.
Have glued together the X-wing's engine parts but that's all.
Am quite impressed with the detailing on the ships.

Ahh, will note and remember that.

I primed the Falcon with Mr Surfacer 1500 Finishing Black and the Blockade Runner with Tamiya Fine White. Planning on using Tamiya acrylics for the detail painting.
