maurizio
HI gang, here are some pics of my 1/48 Kinetic EA-6B Prowler from VAQ-136 Gauntlets. Apart the very nice Aires resin cockpit (late) there are some improvements about the kit (read errors on the kit). Stay tuned! cheers Maurizio Edited July 17, 2019 by maurizio
maurizio
As you already know Aires cockpit is a must for this kit. A very well detailed pit for a very nice airplane IMHO. Cheers Maurizio

maurizio
Removing some parts of the interior details for the resin pit. Cheers Maurizio
maurizio
I also opened the hole with an horizontal bar against birds nettiing. It will add a nice detail using a grid tool on a hand drill. Maurizio
maurizio
I added a plastic tube for closing the a/m hole. Before gluing it I Painted the interior in black. It gives a nice tridimensional touch to the fuselage like the real plane. M.

maurizio
Opening the side grills.
maurizio
Around the grills there are some deep holes for bigger screws. Just increase them using an hand drill. Cheers Maurizio
maurizio
Resin pit Painted in mid grey after a Tamiya NATO Black coverall. The grey is Painted not insisting in the angles/recessed areas. Instrument panel in NATO Black, a sort of very dark grey. Edited July 19, 2019 by maurizio
maurizio
Other side.
maurizio
Some panels are raised compared to the fuselage. I obtained this adding Gunze 1500 liquid putty and removing soon the paper tape mask.
maurizio
Formation lights are too much raised so you must levelling them using the sandpaper. Also note the previous mentioned hole.
maurizio
Cockpit Painted (some minor details must be still added). Please note the different shades of dark grey, black, dark brown of each single side panel. Tamiya panel accent black was used for the recessed panels and a mid grey for drybrushing (Italeri acrilic paints). Edited July 23, 2019 by maurizio

maurizio
There are some holes here and there in the fuselage that - I think - could improve the detailing job and interest.
maurizio
I also opened the side handles placed betweed the two cockpits. They will closed with a piece of plasticard from the interior. Cheers Maurizio
wardog
Great work so far! I like all the extra work you're doing which will pay off at the end. -Elmo
maurizio
Thank you Elmo et al, The following picture shows that I sandpapered those raised parts on the wings. They will be replaced with smaller pieces of plasticard. They are also located in wrong places. Also note the entire fuselage and wings have been sandpapered with wet 1200 grid paper since the plastic surface was not smooth.
