Scimitar Fmk1
Does anyone know of a good photo that shows the area at the rear of the canopy of a single seat Super Sabre? I am building the Monogram kit and getting close to the painting stage. There is a part in the kit that fits extremely randomly at the rear of the canopy (plus an etch piece as well) and I want to see what it should look like. I have cut out the Squadron Vac Form piece and intend to use this and I am keen to detail it accurately. Any help would be much appreciated. Will
Mstor
This web site has photos of a crashed F-100D, with numerous photos of the rear part of (what's left of) the canopy. The only thing that looks non-standard is the inclusion of the " In-Flight Control Tester Panel" on the back of the canopy. From what I can see of in other photos, this is not something standard. Anyway, take it for what its worth... https://joeidoni.smugmug.com/Aircraft-Crash-Sites/F-58/ Edit: This site also has some pics showing the rear part of the canopy: http://www.delbertsscalemodels.com/aircraft-items/f-100-super-sabre-photos Edited August 11, 2019 by Mstor

I have to say I was not expecting to see a crash relic as a reference here but it is absolutely spot on. Will

My Esci 1/72 kit was stalled for the same reason. I was trying to understand the Aires resin cockpit, but it made no sense to me. With the photos you linked to I finally know what to delete and what to add from scratch-built parts. BTW: I'm installing the resin parts after assembly of the kit, that I built way before resin parts became available. Rob Edited August 11, 2019 by Rob de Bie
