1/72 KA Model F-15 PW Exhausts

Recommended Posts

Ok, so after seeing the pictures and reviews, I bit the bullet and ordered a set of KA Model exhausts for my 1/72 Academy F-15K.  The new 1/72 Academy F-15E/K  kits appear to be pretty solid with the exception of the absolutely horrible closed (why?!) PW exhausts.   My only other beefs are the closed one piece canopy and sway brace/ordnance attachment pins which make using other weapons a bit of a chore-  But I digress...

I was blown away by what came in the mail today!

The printing and detail is flawless!  There are 6 tiny attachment points that should be a breeze to snip before you put these on the model.  This is so much simpler than the Aires nozzles!

So, do yourself a favor and replace those abhorrent excuses for PW exhaust nozzles included in the 1/72 Academy kit!

Well I’ll be damned.  Where did you order these from?

Cheapest place to order from is directly from KA Models in South Korea. I've ordered from Lawrence a number of times and items arrived in perfect shape and fairly fast (it is coming across the ocean). Sometimes there may be a delay if he doesn't have printed stock and has to print up your order. Its worth the wait though. KA Model's exhaust nozzles are far and away the best available.

I ordered them directly from the KA models eBay store.  It took about 3 weeks.

These 3-D printed closed and opened nozzles also come with Hasegawa's excellent F-15Js

Wow, those definitely look like KA nozzles. Really cool that Hasegawa is including them with some kits. I sure hope Lawrence has bought more printers so he can keep up with the demand. These nozzles take a while to print. I can only imagine how long the big 1/32 scale ones take. I wonder if Hasegawa will do the same for the premium 1/48 F-15 kits?

Glad your experience was better than mine

I really feel you, signals, my friend; sincerely. Keep your faith; hope you're sorted out in no time.

Bought some KA Model 1/48 F-15C burner cans some time ago. I just couldn't have put up with getting defective ones, I guess.

Can't quite believe that such an awful flaw like on yours had passed QC. Totally unacceptable; outrageous.
